Stafford Allpress 15 - 26 September 2010 Preview: Tuesday 14 September, 6-8pm |

Stafford Allpress crafts miniature household objects and environments from raw materials with incredible precision. A meticulous treatment of surface and the careful construction and placement of mundane objects make for hauntingly familiar scenes. |

Allpress’ new exhibition includes a series based around a table Stafford’s wife made in intermediate school manual class in 1988. Itself a personal object that has been retained and used in many varied ways, this table acts as a platform upon which a variety of objects rest, from curiosities to mundane household items. Allpress is also interested in recording and archiving personal, domestic spaces. A series of wall mounted sculptures represent sections of actual walls he has encountered – perfect little records that hint at the history and activities of previous occupants. |
