Meredith Marsone, The Family Tree
Meredith Marsone is painter based in Ohakea, Bulls who works predominantly in oils. Her central subject matter has always been the human figure and the passage through human experience. Marsone's work is accessible and relatable but often leaves the audience wondering about its deeper context. She deliberately leaves this up to the viewer, encouraging them to extrapolate their own narratives from the fragments she represents. In The Family Tree, Marsone presents a series of ethereal and wistful portraits of family life.
Marsone won The Lysaght Watt Trust Art Award 2015 and has been selected as a finalist for The Adam Portraiture Award five times. She has exhibited widely throughout NZ, in Australia and in the USA.
