Meredith Marsone, Versions of Me

Meredith Marsone is a Blenheim based painter working predominantly in oils. Her central subject matter has always been the human figure and the passage through human experience. Marsone's work is at once accessible and relatable but leaves the audience wondering about its deeper context. She deliberately leaves this up of the viewer, encouraging them to extrapolate their own narratives from the fragments she represents. In Versions of Me and You and Me, Marsone presents a series of delicately rendered self-portraits in a range of subtly different guises and emotional states.

Marsone has won several awards in recent years including First Prize in The Lysaght Watt Trust Art Award 2015, Merit Award in the WSA Painting and Printmaking Award and she has been selected as a finalist for The Adam Portraiture Award three times. She has exhibited widely throughout NZ, in Australia and in the USA.
